Welcome to the final day of our wonderful Love & Hugs from Australia stitch-a-long.

What a fabulous journey this has been sharing in times of isewlation with stitchers and quilters from all around the world. Our thanks go to Natalie Bird for her great idea and bringing us all together in stitching therapy. We may be isolated physically, but virtually we are spending our days doing something that brings us peace and joy together.

My designed stemmed from our joint love of stitching and our need to connect. We may not be able to hug physically but a needle and thread, along with our online connections have brought more than just hugs; and much love and support for all.

Being last in line and late to join the party, I have had time to stitch three different versions of my block - just for fun... You of course may have already decided how you are stitching your blocks, but if not, maybe one of mine will give you inspiration and ideas.

As there have been many issues downloading blocks and patterns I have setup this landing page rather than sending you all to my website at once (and having it crash).  So we are going to email you your pattern link - you will need to enter your name and email address below. We are asking for your email so if you do have troubles downloading or accessing the links you can reply to our email for more assistance. And you will also have those backup links in your inbox. Yes, this will also add you to our HNK happenings newsletter - take a look around with the next few newsletters and if you decide it's not for you then feel free to unsubscribe using the links provided at anytime....even straight after this one if you prefer. We will love having you here, but perfectly understand if it's not for you and don't want to spam you.

Once you enter your details below you'll see the link appear where the form was that you can click on instantly to download from your browser - so you'll get it instantly and then a backup link by email. The email will also include a dropbox link option.  If you have issues find our contact details at the bottom of this page and email for help. PLEASE double check you have spelt your email address correctly or it will bounce and you will not get the email.

If you do not wish to receive email backup or support you can choose to direct download your block pattern here.

Below you can find more information on the three versions I made, what threads I used and the projects I made. If you are interested in kits you can follow the links I've put there to my website.

My first version I stitched using a lovely Cottage Garden hand dyed thread #2204 Honeysuckle. I stitched on a cream purity linen and backed my stitchery with HNK stitchery stabliser  and a HNK Stitchery needle.

This block I've used to make a simple display book folder to store your patterns or blocks in progess. I used some delicious Tilda fabrics, soft pink ric rac and added some sweet yoyo embellishments.

If you'd like to make the folder we have kits available in the same fabrics which include the pattern instructions.

For my second version I stitched using my favourite Cottage Garden hand dyed thread #1007 Hugs 'n Kisses red (yes they made it just for me). I love how a varigated thread gives depth and movement to redwork.

This block I've placed into a simple wallhanging with yummy French General fabrics that suits this 12" table stand. You could make several of your blocks into mini wallhangings and change them out each month.

If you'd like to make this project we have some kits available in the same/similar fabrics which include the pattern instructions. You can also add on the table stand to your order.

For my final version I had a little fun with my colourque technique. I've seen some of the lovely versions of blocks in the Facebook group with pencil and crayon, along with many questions on how?  I did a little timelapse video which I shared on my FB page and Instagram, but I shall do another better tutorial soon.

I have then stitched the outlines using my favourite Presencia Finca Perle #16 threads. These are equivalent to 1 1/2 strands of floss so perfect for stitcheries using only one strand.

This version I have made into a simple drawstring bag or pyjama bag using my soft and dreamy Basically Hugs flannel fabrics. Of course we can send you a kit if you'd like which will include the instructions to make it.

Where's your tribe?

Where do you hang out? Facebook? Instagram?  or do you prefer pinterest and newsletters?  I'm mainly on Instagram and my facebook page - come follow me wherever you are to see what I share, stitch each night, tutorials, live demos and more.. We love friends, especially if theyre stitchers like you!
